Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust provides morning nutrition to over 10 Million school children (as of April 2025, still growing) across 25 states and 4 Union Territories across India. These children attend government schools, located typically in rural hinterland. Education for All supports this noble cause
Annapoorna Morning Nutrition
The morning nutrition is in the form of “SaiSure” nutrition supplement added to the milk, presented to the child every morning, after school prayer at the school premises.

This simple service has catalyzed improvements in enrollments, punctuality, mental focus, academic performance and health profile of the child, besides motivating the teachers who were previously teaching to empty stomachs from the morning.

Essential micro, and macronutrients are added to the SaiSure Ragi variant (Finger Millet) making it a complete wholesome meal. It is prepared in Annapoorna Trust's own SaiSure Nutraceutical Manufacturing facility.
About the initiative
In India and in many other parts of the world there are millions of children go to school hungry. They do not eat morning breakfast like rest of the population due to financial and family situation. Many of these children have single parent, or parent working as daily wage workers who can not afford to feed their children with 3 meals a day. Due to this many children lack proper nutrition. With hungry stomach these children can not focus in schools and will end up in dropping out of school early. Finally continuing poverty cycle. Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna is striving to break this poverty cycle by providing these children with morning nutrition. To know more on this project please click here. .
