A University That Brings Opportunity Home
In the quiet village of Madiyala, near Mangaluru, a new chapter is about to begin.
A century ago, Sri Madiyala Narayana Bhat — lovingly known as Anna — was born in this village. His life was guided by a simple but powerful belief: education should never be a privilege reserved for those who can afford it. It should be an opportunity available to every deserving child.
Today, as we celebrate the centenary of his birth, that vision is coming home.
The Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence is establishing a new campus in Madiyala to bring world-class higher education within reach of talented young people from rural communities. The campus will offer a free Bachelor's program in Computational Sciences and Artificial Intelligence, opening the doors of modern technology and higher education to students who might otherwise be unable to pursue their dreams. The impact
For many young people in the surrounding villages, pursuing a university education means travelling long distances, living away from home, or facing expenses that their families simply cannot afford. As a result, talent and potential often remain unrealized.
This new campus seeks to change that.
By bringing quality higher education directly to rural communities — completely free of cost — we hope to empower the next generation with knowledge, skills, values, and the confidence to build meaningful careers and contribute to society.
This is more than the construction of a new campus.
